You will be picked up in La Fortuna a driven about 15 minutes to our Organic Farm, where the tour will start. You'll get to see, taste and harvest exotic fruits and fresh vegetables from the farm. After the tour, you will sit down to a delicious Organic meal cooked with freshly harvested crops from the farm.
You will be picked up and whisked off to the canyon, about a 20-minute drive outside La Fortuna. Then transfer to 4x4 trucks for a short drive into the rainforest to the ranch house where your guides will provide high-quality equipment and pump you up for your adventure. Then you are off for a morning of excitement! Enjoy waterfall rappelling, a canyon walk, Monkey drop (zip line & rappel) and rock climbing all in the green rainforest canyon. You will then hike up to the canyon house and be served a meal and freshen up for your cooking class. You’ll get back in the vans and drive for about 20 minutes to the Costa Rica Cooking base where you’ll get a delicious taste of what Costa Rican cooking is all about.
You will join chef Scott Alan and his team of local chefs to create some of Costa Rica’s most popular appetizers. Fresh fish ceviche, empanadas, fried plantains, and Costa Rican cacao are some of the oldest and most delicious appetizers carried down through generations of Costa Rican families. You will learn Scott’s personal recipes, get to participate in the creation of them, and of course sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor!
The class is located in a gorgeous professional kitchen overlooking the rainforest. Bring your binoculars and camera because toucans are spotted on a daily basis.
