Bread pudding dates back centuries. It was created originally to make something delicious out of stale bread so as not to waste food. Today bread pudding is still a popular dish but we use fresh ingredients, such as gourmet breads and things like nuts & chocolate to make this a dessert to remember!
Favorite white bread, favorite wheat bread, eggs, condensed milk, whole milk, favorite chocolate bar (chopped), raisins, white sugar, vanilla extract
Cut bread into cubes, 4-5 cups, and place in a loaf pan
Beat 3 eggs in a bowl until frothy, then add 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract and then add 2 cups of milk & beat well
Pour the milk mixture over the bread and toss together adding in the raisins & chopped chocolate bar
Let soak for 30 minutes; while the bread soaks, heat the oven to 300 degrees
Bake for 45 minutes or until custard is set
Serve warm or cold, with whipped cream or ice cream
